WELCOME TO THE CARMEL FIRE DEPARTMENT, HOME OF THE "BUCKEYE"!

Located in Carmel, NY, the Carmel Fire Department has been providing services for over 100 years. The Carmel Fire Department was founded in 1915. We are a 100% volunteer organization that is dedicated to preserving the lives and property of the residents within the Hamlet of Carmel. We respond to approximately 400 calls per year in a response area of 10.6 square miles serving a population of 8,000 people.

Members of the department are constantly training to ensure they are prepared for any emergency that we may be called to handle. Our firefighters participate in weekly training sessions on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings, as well as monthly department meetings. In addition to responding to emergencies members also participate in several community events throughout the year including department fundraisers, annual town holiday festivities, fire prevention and public education activities.

Sunday 7/18/21 Carmel firefighters hosted a tanker shuttle drill along with Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department and Lake Carmel Fire Dept
